FAQIf you are planning on visiting Denman Avenue Baptist Church for the first time, there are some things that you might want to know about us… Where is DABC? Click here for directions to DABC. What do I wear? There are no "right" or "wrong" clothes to wear at Denman Avenue. On Sunday mornings, you will see everything from jeans to "Sunday best". Sunday nights are casual, as are Wednesdays. We care more about you being here than we do about what you wear! Where do I park? For new visitors, we reserve parking spaces near the covered drive. Just look for the signs marked "Visitor Parking". Those spots are reserved for you…and if they are filled, find the closest site and rest assured in the knowledge that you are NOT the only visitors! Where do I go first? Once you enter the facility through the covered drive you will immediately see the Welcome Center that will be staffed with people who love you and are glad to give you the best possible welcome and information on where to go for Bible Study and Worship What about my children? Denman Avenue Baptist Church has an excellent children's and preschool ministry. Sunday school for preschoolers and Children (grades 1-6) is offered at 9:30, with an extended session at 10:45, so that you may enjoy Worship service. We also offer Children’s Church for 1st and 2nd Graders at 10:45. If your child is in Jr. High or High School Bible study is offered at 9:30. What do I do when I get there? There are Greeters located in the foyer of the Sanctuary and Education Building (3-story building) who can help you decide and know the Bible study times and opportunities available to you as an adult. What are services like? At DABC, we do our best to provide you with the best possible opportunity to worship. It's a warm, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere, with comfortable pews. Instead of hymnals, we project the words to songs on the front wall of our worship center. As our pastor shares the message, relevant points will be shown as well as Bible verses that are used. But don't leave your Bible at home - you'll need it for Bible study class! Usually, the first thing we do in our Worship service is sing a few songs. This is followed by a time of informal greeting of those around us. If you like, you can fill out the Visitor's information card that will be offered to you during this fellowship time and place it in the offering plate at the end of the service. Don't worry about someone showing up at your doorstep, unannounced and uninvited - we don't do that. After the welcome, we'll enjoy a few more songs, and then Bro. Charles, our pastor, will speak. Following the message, announcements are given and the offering is taken. Our services usually last an hour. Will I be pressured to give money? Absolutely not! When the offering plate is passed we want you in no way to feel obligated to give. Our members understand their role in supporting the ministry of the church through their tithes and offerings. However, should you feel led to give you are encouraged to be obedient to the Lord’s leadership. If you do visit with us know that we are honored to have you. If you will call and let us know that you are coming we would be glad to arrange for someone your age to meet you when you get here and show you around. ARTICLESINVOLVED IN CHURCH LEADERSHIP?
